We are removing our old and leaking teak deck!

Making a non skid deck with Kiwigrip


Step by step teakdeck removal


Step 1: remove screws and dismount hatches

Step 2: remove teak with chisel and oscillating multi tool

Stap 3: sanding the (damaged) polyester/fiberglass

Step 4: egalise with epoxy filler and more sanding

Step 5: one layer of 600grams roving fibre glass with epoxy to strengthen the deck

Step 6: primer and some more sanding

Step 7: first layer of DD paint in RAL9003

Step 8: while we are at it, we decided to paint the sides of the cockpit as well. Lot's of sanding, primer and some more sanding. Then the first later of DD paint!

Step 9: one day later it is time do the second layer!

Step 10: putting back the hatches with Sikaflex

Step 11:  painting the deck with non skid paint ‘Kiwi Grip’ RAL 9003! DONE!
