We love solar power, we are really happy with SolarV so we got a promo code to share with you

Solar panel on sailboat Aim by SolarV

For cooking, lights, our toilet and navigational equipment we need electricity. So therefore we decided to harvest our own solar power as much as possible. The size of the panels is leading. Like many other boats our stanchion and guardrails are 61cm high. The panels we found on SolarV are 51cm. Leaving some space for water to flow away, a line to go underneath or your shoes to stick out over the toe-rail.

We bought 2 times the SolarV Perc 110w solar panels. Since we are very satisfied with this product and fast international delivery (Germany to The Netherlands) we've decided to be an ambassador and carry out a discount code. By using our discount code you'll receive a 5% discount all across their website*. Have a look at:
www.solarv.de and use the code: solarvlaan23 at the checkout

Here some photos on how I've hung the panels to the side of the boat. I used a stainless clamp with a rubber inlay. Down at the bottom I've used a simple plastic clamp with an aluminum nail in the aluminum frame. These two panels are connected in parallel on a Victron MPPT 75/15 solar charger. While writing this blog we are in cloudy Scotland and harvest somewhere between 130 and 350 watts a day. Which boils down to roughly 10 till 30Ah. In sunny conditions this will be higher of course. In the near future I'll make a tilting system for  the panels, so I can point them at the sun more often.
Thanks for reading and don't forget the promtioncode: solarvlaand23 if you're shopping on SolarV www.solarv.de
